Celery

So today when I was walking along side KK while she was riding her bike I unfortunately bit the dust. Jillian was in the front pack so when I fell, to prevent myself from falling on her I caught myself on my knee. Well tonight when we were at home I was rubbing my knee and KK came up and offered me some of her celery that she was eating and said to eat it b/c it will go into my tummy and then down to my knee and make it all better. That was so sweet but I HATE celery. I tried to get out of eating it but she insisted. I put on a brave face and put it in my mouth. I kept smiling to hide my slight gagging but got it down. You know, my knee does feel better!

No longer a toddler

Ok, I know she is not a toddler anymore but she is an actual real kid now. She roller skates, rides a bike doesn't need my help with hardly anything anymore. This morning we went to our friends house - Gracie and Kenzie and they all rode their bike's. This was KK's first time riding with other kids and she kept up pretty good. KK got too hot with her helmet on so they decided to take the Jeep for a spin. KK did good when she was in a wide open space but she will have to work on staying on the sidewalk. (Little scary) Gracie graciously drove KK all the way back to their house. KK was in charge of finding a radio station for them to listen to.
Tonight we went on a family walk and KK rode her bike and did so well. We went on a fairly long walk and she stayed on the entire time and kept up so well. There were a few close calls but Nick saved the day! I am thinking she is going to sleep pretty good tonight.

Roller skating

This week for playgroup we took the kiddos skating. It was the first time for KK and she loved it and did great. After going around once she wanted to do it all by herself so I let her. It did take about 5 min. to make it around the entire rink but she did it. We had a lot of fun! It took me back to the 80's when I use to love to skate. Yesterday I had such an urge to just go out there and race around so once KK was done and took her skates off I went around a couple of times. Jillian had a good time too I think. She just laid in her car seat and watched everyone and all of the bright lights flashing around...

After skating we went and played with Morgan at my parents house and stayed for dinner with all of them before Nannie and Ba bop were off to Arkansas.

Meeting new cousin Lila

KK and Jillian got to meet their new cousin Lila. She is so cute and looks a lot like her brother. This is the first time they all got to meet Jillian too. Tina flew in from Chicago and got to meet both new babies. It was a fun couple of days. Jillian and Lila are only 7 wks. apart so I am thinking they will be very close as they grow up.

Kaylee's first big girl bike

Kaylee got her first big girl bike on Sat. She is growing up so fast. Thank you Nannie and Ba bop for KK's early b-day bike so she could enjoy it during the summer. Nick took her out for the first time on Mon. afternoon and she loved it as you can see. She picked out a very pretty purple disney princess bike and was mostly excited that it came with a water bottle. :-) She ran through the store to Ba bop screaming that it had a water bottle and had the biggest smile on her face. Very cute.

Summer fun

We went to Denver today with my friend Kristin and her girls Gracie and Kenzie. Kenzie got her 1st haircut so that was exciting. You can sortof see her showing Jillian her haircut in one of the pics. The place we went was called Lollilocks and was too cute. They were decked out for kiddos. The girls had a lot of fun, including Jillian. This was the furthest she has been away from home so far and she did really good!

She still sleeping good

Well I guess it wasn't a one time sleeping through the night thing. She has been doing so good every night. We go to bed at 10:30 to 11:00 and she has been sleeping until about 4:30 to 5:00. Hey, 6 hrs. I am happy with that. Thank you little Jillian....

Full night sleep :-)

Guess who slept all night. Yipee!!! Maybe just a one time thing but we will see. Jillian was awake all day yesterday. I cant remember her taking even a little nap so I was hoping she would sleep last night. I didn't wake up until Nicks alarm went off at 4:45. Jillian woke up shortly after.

Guys day out...

The guys - Nick, my dad and friend Ryan all had a good guys day today. They went fishing up at Crystal Lake. They all caught fish but it sounds like my dad and Ryan were the winners today.
Who's counting though? (Nick ;-) Such a competitor) Nick said he had a lot of fun!

Friday Fun...?

Well, well, well... What a Friday we did have! We started the day by having a playdate at Chick-Fil-A with Marci and Morgan. The girls had a lot of fun. We then headed over to Target b/c I had to grocery shop. Luckily Marci came with me b/c half way through Jillian was no longer having it so I had to carry her while trying to push the shopping cart and while trying to get groceries. I gave Marci the produce list and we made it through. Well I ran the groceries home and then went back to my parents to hang for a bit and get Kaylee. Well we are sitting there and Jillian has a BLOWOUT. I am holding her in the air while my mom is trying to delicately take her clothes off without getting poo all over her. We get the clothes off and I rush her into the bathroom to get her cleaned off and give her a bath. Morgan then comes in and from the smell throws up all in her hand. I am sitting there watching Morgan clean vomit off of her hand and am trying to clean baby poo. My gag reflex starts by this point but I managed to hold it down. Well we all get squared away and not knowing that Morgan had gotten some of her goodness on the floor Kaylee then stepped in it. I guess they don't call it Friday the 13th for nothin'... We all had a good laugh by the end of it all.

Where does the time go?

Today Jillian is 7 wks old and I truly cannot believe it. It seems like I just had her yesterday. She is changing each and every day. She smiles now which is the absolute best thing ever. She is starting to watch and observe things around her. She loves to watch Kaylee play and jump around. Kaylee loves her so much and loves to dance around for her. I love my girls so much and love watching them blossom but I sure wish time would slow down some. Before I know it they are going to be all grown up and I will only be able to look back at these days. Right now I am living in these days so I want to make each day count. I love you girls!

We love our Wed. playgroup

Today we went to playgroup as we do every Wed. and had so much fun as we always do. As soon as we are done with playgroup we are already looking forward to next weeks playgroup. Today it was at our great friend Madisons' house and her mommy - Kim planned a fun Father's Day craft where all of the kiddos made home made cards. Afterwards they all played outside and ate popsicles and then played musical chairs.
It is playgroup for me as much as it is for KK b/c I get to hang out with other moms and have adult conversations. It is especially fun too b/c there are 4 of us who have little babies within just weeks of each other. The oldest being 8 wks and the youngest at only 3 wks. Thank you Kim for starting playgroup and for thinking of all of the different activities we get to do.

Fun with friends

Yesterday we went and checked out the new Lil' Biggs on Powers and KK and her good friends Gracie and Kenzie had so much fun! They played for hours. KK finally happily rode the carousel and talked about it all afternoon. Normally she will not get on a carousel because she is scared so hopefully the carousel counseling we put her in this last yr. helped. J/K ! She loved it though and even pretended that our computer chair was one last night and kept spinning around. They jumped in a bounce house and played dress up. Thank you to Gracie and Kenzie for being such fun friends for KK to play with...

O', the innocence of children

Today KK asked me if my belly was all better (meaning after having Jillian). I said yes, it's all better. She asked, "then how come your belly hasn't gone down all the way?" ;-)

Goin' Camping

So it is only in the backyard but still tons of fun. O' and did I mention I am staying inside. :-) Well Nick decided earlier this week that it would be fun to do a backyard camp out. KK has been so excited! They set up the tent, we grilled hot dogs and we even roasted marshmallows. (I lost a few taste buds in the process - hey, its been a long time since I have had a roasted marshmallow!) I just put Jillian in bed and am sitting here by the window waiting to see if they come in but I actually think they are sleeping. I hope they sleep tight tonight under the beautiful sky.
P.S.Camping in the backyard sure saves you a lot of gas money.. ;-)
