Special Olympics charity dodgeball tournament
On Sat. Nick competed in the chick-fil-a dodgeball tournament to benefit the Special Olympics. It was an all day event and he had a lot of fun. KK loved to watch him in action as you can see her in the pic. cheering him on.
Halloween
We had such a wonderful Halloween! We got to go trick-or-treating outside this year b/c it was so warm. We didn't even wear jackets. It was fun but I sure wish Halloween was what it use to be. Nick and I both say every year how when we were kids the streets would just be filled with people and every house would give out treats and every other house would be a haunted house or something exciting like that. KK doesn't know the difference though so she had a blast. After we went t-o-t we went to a great Halloween party. Friends Aimee and Derek threw it and the did such a great job! They had such great festivities for everyone. They had pin the face on the mummy for the kids and halloween twister. The adults all played roll the mummy, trick or treat which ended up being mostly tricks as you can see in the pic. of me wearing the beard. Some bobbed for apples. It was a BLAST! O', by the way, for those of you wondering what we were all dressed as - Gang green. Get it? We won the most original out of the costume contest. We then went home and crashed.

I don't think we're in Colorado anymore toto.
Meaning, it was actually hot the other day. It has been so beautiful this month that we have been trying to enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. Everytime I take KK to do something outside and she doesn't want to I tell her that we need to enjoy the warmth b/c it will be gone in a few days. Well this month I have eaten my words several times b/c the cold has yet to come. I am so excited for these wonderful warm days. I very much dislike the cold and snow so this is WONDERFUL! I may become a fan of this whole global warming idea. J/K
The Incline
Well, I have now made it to the top of the INCLINE twice. My goal was to make it up by next summer but I was determined. I loved it both times. If I could I think I would do it every weekend. The incline is a mile of old railroad ties which goes up the side of a mountain. The incline grade varies from a 41% to 68%. It is in total about 2,800 ties. In other words it is crazy! Very challenging but so worth every wanting to puke moment. Marci and I did it about 1 month ago and then Nick and I did it a couple of weeks ago. Don't worry, we dont take all of the steps back down. There is a beautiful 4 mile trail of switchbacks that takes you back down.

Busy, busy, busy
Where do I start? This has been a busy but fun month. Jillian is getting so big. As you can see from one of the pics she is eating baby food now. She can also sit up all by herself. I cannot believe that she is already 5 months old. KK has had a busy month with friends and enjoyed every minute of it. We have done a lot of stuff outdoors this last month to try to soak in the rest of the days that have warm temps. Nick has been busy going hunting and shooting and all of that GUY stuff. He has had a lot of fun. I have just been being a mommy. I did take an afternoon off one day and went with some frinds to go hike the "incline". It is a fairly steep climb up a mountain. There are a total of 2,500 steps or so and I made it to 750. I am now hooked and want to go all of the time just so I can make it to the top. Marci and I are going on Sat. I will keep you posted if we make it to the top. I will try to keep up with the blog better to keep all of you far away from us updated.

Already 4!
My sweet baby KK turned 4 on Tues. I cannot believe she is already 4. Time goes by too fast. I keep thinking that in the short time she has already turned 4 she will be 8. Does that make sense? Well KK had a wonderful party last Sunday where she had several of her close girlfriends come over for a princess party. They played outside, we ate octopus hot dogs on top of mac 'n' chz, decorated tiara's, tried to pop balloons with stickers inside, blew out candles and opened gifts. Busy day but so much fun. I love home parties. On her actual birthday she went and played with her friends Gracie and Kenzie and then we went with Morgan to get their ears pierced. They both did so good. Not even a hint of a tear. I had the worst gut wrenching feeling b/c I was so nervous but in the end it was wasted energy. After ears were done we went to Chick-fil-A for dinner and then to get gelato for dessert. The last pic. you see is her having so much fun decorating a jewelry box that she got as a gift.
KK is such a wonderful little girl and I could never imagine life without her. She did not want to turn 4 b/c she knows as she gets older it is closer to time for her to get married and then move away. She talks about it a lot and always asks when she gets married if she can still live with mommy. I always tell her of course knowing that in a few short yrs. she will not want to live with her mommy anymore and will want to go explore the world on her own. I wish that my girls would stay little forever but as long as we are always as close as we are now I will be the happiest person.

Fun Saturday afternoon
On Saturday afternoon we went to a farm in Longmont, CO and had a lot of fun. The little girls all got to feed a lot of animals, ride the pony, play in the sand, climb a cool tree house, ride bike's, run on top of hay stacks and swing in some really high swings. I think that was it. We had so much fun. On the other hand, the guys had gone fishing in another town about 1hr. away and believe it or not got caught up in a tornado. Well they didn't exactly get caught in it but close enough if you ask them. They were on their way to go fishing when Nick looked up in the sky and saw the startings of a funnel cloud. They stayed away from it as best they could. Luckily they did not see the worst of it. The next area up from them had quite a bit of damage. They eventually got to go fishing but never caught anything. Nick said he had a fun time just hanging out with the guys though.
Kaylee loves ballet class
Well as most of you know Kaylee will be 4 in a couple of weeks. For her b-day gift we got her ballet classes. She has a 45min. class every Sat. morning. Her first class was this Sat. and she had so much fun. She did so well listening to the teacher and trying to follow what the teacher was doing. She also does about 10min. of tap at the end which was a lot of fun for all of the little ones to get to make so much noise. Aunt Tina got her all of her ballet clothes so she was all set. She loves her clothes and wants to wear them all of the time. Thank you for all of the ballet gear Tina...

What Kaylee wants to be when she grows up...
KK has told me various things this week that she wants to be when she grows up. A "Saver Girl" and she is going to save people and wear a saver outfit. She also wants to be a "Jungle girl" and collect "aminals" from the jungle. The last thing is a chef. She loves to watch food tv more then I do. She knows all of the chefs names and sits and watches them cook and tells me what they are cooking. I would be a proud mama if she becomes any of these things.

Garden Glory
Ok, this is more for me to remember my first garden. Ofourse those of you who are interested go ahead and read. This summer I planted my first garden. I spent quite a bit of money, a lot of time and most of all care. I love having a garden and taking care of it so when we decided to move in the middle of the summer the thought of all that going down the drain broke my heart just a bit. Well we decided to dig as much up as we could and move it to the new house. We were pretty sure it wouldn't make it after the transplant but instead the opposite happened. I actually have veggies growing now. I am so happy that it is doing so well and cannot wait to taste the fruits of my labor.
